The ‘Five-Day Faculty Development Program’ convened at St. Vincent Pallotti College, Raipur, with an aim of enhancing faculty members' teaching-learning skills through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and Outcome-Based Education (OBE) principles. The program, led by expert speakers Dr. Sachin Nagmote and Dr. Milind Prakash Kshirsagar, provided comprehensive training into innovative teaching methodologies, PowerPoint presentations, online teaching modules, and CO-PO attainment calculation. The program commenced with the welcome speech by Dr. Kuldeep Dubey in which he shared the very objective and intention of organizing the ‘Faculty Development Program’ only to keep up pace with the ever changing ‘Teaching-Learning’ aspects not only as part of NAAC and also to strive for the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020. On Day 1, Dr. Sachin Nagmote, the expert trainer conducted on the topic of ‘Mastering Effective PowerPoint Presentations with Animation Tools’. He initiated the program by emphasizing the importance of engaging presentations in effective teaching and learning. Participants learned about MS PowerPoint features and AI-powered tools like GAMMA.APP and TINYWOW.AI. Dr. Nagmote's hands-on training on SmartArt, Creative Drawing, and 3D Models equipped the attendees with skills to create dynamic presentations. The focus shifted to online teaching methods on Day-2 i.e., ‘Harnessing YouTube and Mobile Applications for Online Teaching’ as per schedule. Dr. Nagmote demonstrated the nuances in creation of YouTube videos using animated PowerPoint presentations and mobile apps like Canva, Tinywow, and KineMaster. Participants actively involved in learning to record, edit, and upload high-quality educational content, enhancing their online teaching capabilities. On Day 3, the FDP program highlighted on the topic of ‘Understanding POs, PSOs, and COs in NAAC Accreditation’ Dr. Milind Prakash Kshirsagar enlightened participants about Program Outcomes (POs), Program Specific Outcomes (PSOs), and Course Outcomes (COs) within the NAAC accreditation framework. His session provided clarity on aligning these outcomes to ensure the quality of education. Participants actively participated, gaining profound insights into formulating impactful outcomes for their programs and courses. Dr. Kshirsagar delved into the formulation of Program Outcomes (POs) and Course Outcomes (COs) using Bloom's Taxonomy on Day-4 topic, ‘Crafting Well-defined POs and COs Using Bloom’s Taxonomy’ by categorically emphasizing the structured approach it offers. The faculty attended the program learned on how to create outcomes that demand critical thinking and creativity, ensuring a comprehensive educational experience. Dr. Kshirsagar’s expertise was well-received, leading to valuable discussions among the participants. On Day-5 at the FDP, Expert, Dr. Kshirsagar continued the topic based on the previous day and titled as ‘CO-PO Attainment Calculation in the Outcome Based Education’. He extensively discussed on the significance of CO-PO attainment and its direct correlation with student success. He guided participants on assessing attainment using this direct method, enumerating the CO-PO matrix, formulas to be used in the mapping of CO and PO, how to obtain each course outcome’s data set to be checked and forwarded to the next sheet for final calculation of attainment. He rigorously presented the step-by-step usage of MS-Excel for parameterization, matrix construction and calculation The Program concluded with expressions of gratitude given by Program Co-ordinator, Mrs. Pooja Rathi and thanked the trainers as well as members involved in the execution and complimented all the faculty for their commitment. Participants immensely benefited by the ‘Five-Day Faculty Development Program’ and learned to integrate the acquired knowledge and skills into their teaching practices. The program's success was a testament to the dedication of the faculty and the valuable insights provided by Dr. Sachin Nagmote and Dr. Milind Prakash Kshirsagar.
